How do I re-connect my apple airplay and express?

I have just changed broadband providers which meant a change of router as well. The new wifi works very well that is until I try to scan for my apple wireless devices. I have two, apple airport for speaker connection and apple airplay for tv. I was planning to use my desktop pc for the base station but when scanning, none of the airport devices can be found. The PC is hard wired into the router so not near any of the apple of the devices.. I cannot remember how I originally set this up and whether I had to connect directly from the PC via usb to the devices..

Thank you in advance for any help

Just so I understand. Is your goal to use this desktop PC as a "software" wireless router? That is, will you be configuring it for Internet sharing?

What is the new Wi-Fi router/gateway's make and model?

It is a Sky Router or Hub, there newest mode but the number is not printed on there.

The Desktop does not have wireless which is why it is plugged in directly to the sky hub. This config worked no problems with my old virgin router but as I say I remember having to connect the airport to a wireless laptop to configure it and with a usb connection. The Apple web site set up instructions doesnt seem to cover this as it assumes the base station (this being my desktop) can see the airport which it cant. At the moment my desktop and none of my apple devices can see the airport at all.

Ok thanks. As you may already know this is a combination modem and wireless router.

You will need to reconfigure each of your AirPort Express base stations to join this router as wireless clients for the purpose of streaming and or for sharing a USB printer. To do so, please check out the following Apple Support article.

Since your PC is not wireless, I would recommend that you temporarily connect each of your AirPorts to the Sky Hub via an Ethernet connection. Before connecting be sure to perform a "factory default" reset on each of them.

With the base stations connected by Ethernet your PC should now be able to "see" them via the AirPort Utility for Windows. Once you configured a base station, you can remove it from the Sky Hub and place it at the desired location.

Ok thats great I can see the airport although even after the factory re-set it came up with the name 'Mark's airport express', so how does it know who I am after a full re-set? Everything seemed to be ok until I decided to change the devices name to one that defined its eventual location making it easier to select off wireless devices. It didnt like that but I remember having all my airplays with loaction names. I am continuing...🙂

The name should have reset. Most likely, the factory default did not fully take. Sometimes you just have to perform it a few times to get it to "stick."

You are likely using a Mac with a name like "Mark's MacBook", or "Mark's iMac", or an iPad or iPhone that is similarly called "Mark's iPhone", etc.

That is how AirPort Utility knows that your name is "Mark".
