Software Update printer driver update for HP causes an extra page to print that just has "2345X" printed on it.

I'm having the same problem here.

I reset the printing system already but it didn't work.

There's a strange behaviour though: In Apple Pages, when the printing preview window appears, the printer atomaticly pulls a bit of the paper.

Then when I print the document "2345x" is printed instead of the document.

I'm using a HP Photosmart C3180.

Which app are you printing from? I've installed the update and don't see this problem with my two HP AIOs and update 2.16.1 installed.

The same thing just started happening to me as well. I'm not sure if the driver was recently updated, apple did its regular update in the past couple days. For me, the 2345x was happening when printing from PhotoShop - but I think I might have done the same for Word.

Same thing is happening to me. It doesn't matter what program I print from. I am using an HP 9800 and getting another printed page with 2345x in the upper left hand corner.

I have got same error on a Hp K7100 printer. But it happened at once even before downloading and using the Update Drivers from the Apple site.

Probably the Update was already made in some previous automatic Apple proposal of updating.

And it happens on all applications.

Somewhere I found suggestion to repair disc permission on Disc Utility, I did it but situation is the same.

What I suggest is to reset the print system, click the link below to proceed:

Once you have reset the print system please make sure you are selecting the HP Driver and not the Airprint driver (see picture below)

Please let me know if this has resolved the error of the extra page with the numbers on it, or if you require more assistance.

Hi - do you have any other suggestions on fixing this nuisance? the above suggestion was followed, but the results are still the same - additional page with 2345x printed on the top before the actual print job is completed.....thanks so much for your help! operating on Apple 10.7 version...

Having the same problem. Tried the reset but no help. After printing, the HP3210 AIO "On" light keeps blinking and the screen shows "Printing" but nothing happens till you press "Cancel." Then a clean sheet is ejected.

I followed your suggestions but the situation is just the same . One page with 2345x and one sheet blank ejected at the end. What's next?

Same issue here - looking for a fix...

we ended up installing a generic printer driver that resolved the issue of printing an extra page, but it does not print in color now. For us it is the lesser of 2 evils until the matter is resolved properly.

I have the problem with a rwist.

I have tried resetting, restarting, uninstalling, reinstalling, going to HP, etc. I can not find the HP folder in applications so I can not delete that. I bleive I have done every suggesting in the forum.

Here is where I am. I think this started with the Maverick upgrade (10.9).

It started with the 2345X extra page but has migrated.......

Whatever I want to print will, then we start a print of another document that does not show up in the print que, the printer will sit in "printing" state for about 2-3 minutes, finally kicks out a blank page, then indicate a paper jam. There is none, but after I open it all up, it will reset.

Print anything else, same thing happens.

Can I use the Time Machine to go back to a good printer state? I do not know how to do this with the printer.

After print via print sharing. Same problem prints 2345x in top left. Sometimes print 2 in upper left. Starts feed of blank page which stays in "printing" until you cancel and sheet feeds out.

This started recently with HP Update.

Printer is HP C3180.

Printer connected to 20 inch mid-2006 with Lion 10.7.5.

Printing Macbook Pro's with Mountain Lion.

No issue when printing locally from either iMac or Macbooks.
