Q: iphone 5 wont air drop to my mac book pro, any ideas why?

Hi,

Im wondering why Im not able to air drop photo's or files from my phone to the Mac and vis-versa.

Appreciate could use the cloud to file share, but air dropping would be an alternative

Am i missing some thing ?

A:

AirDrop currently does not support iOS to OS X transfers.

AirDrop on iOS only works with iOS and AirDrop on OS X only works on OS X.

Hacky work-around I found for this when I desperately needed photos from my iPhone to my Mac, but didn't have a connection chord:

1) Open iMessage on the Mac.
2) From your phone, iMessage the photos to someone close (give them a little warning first)
3) Open the conversation between with that person in iMessage in Mac.

From iMessage on your Mac, you can open the photos in preview and save them to your hard drive. You can do the reverse to transfer photos from Mac to iPhone.
