Itunes and My Iphone are not saying the same thing anymore

Hey all

Since this new IOS update it seems I have lost all control over what is going on with my phone.

When I upgraded to the new IOS for some reason all my songs in my itunes library got downloaded to my phone. It has taken me ages to work this all out and i have switched every possible automatic download switch to off. I have also switched off the "show all music".

Now on Itunes on my Imac, my Iphone has no music on it, but if i look at my phone, it still has hundreds of albums on it and I can get these off. This is driving me mad as I drive a lot so I listen to a lot of music but not necessarily all of it as some of it are Christmas albums and a few other dodgy purchases I'd

rather not be reminded of.

Why cant I just use my Iphone like I used to and copy music over to it when I want and remove it when I want.

If it aint broke.... just sayin!!

Thanks for your help in advance.
