Cant Receive Verizon VText messages.

An organization I'm with has decided to communicate using text messaging sent via email. On Verizon that would be VText.

The messages are being sent but I'm not receiving them. I checked with Verizon and ran some tests using my company issued Droid.

It was determined that this is an iOS 7 issue.

So, I have to ask when is this issue going to be fixed?

iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.2

This is a user-to-user tech support forum. No one here would know anything about Apple's future plans.

However, I just tested this and had no problems. I sent an email to my iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.2 at XXXXXXXXXX@vtext.com. I received it as a text in less than 3 seconds. So, it's not a universal iOS 7 issue.

Can you describe exactly what you're doing? Is the number on your iPhone a Verizon number? Or another carrier? What is the exact email address you're using?

Best of luck.

Hello Meg

Thank you for your quick response. I've never tried posting to forms before So It is not surprising that I got "lost" and posted in the wrong place.

That is really interesting that you can do it and I can't. I'm starting to think it may be an issue for the iPhone 4.

I'm sending an email addressed to mynumber@vtext.com. I'm also Cc'ing my company phone, also Verizon, and I get the message in around 3 seconds like you were able to do. I also know that messages are being sent because my wife is receiving the message alerts (we both volunteer for the same emergency service agency). But my iPhone 4 is not receiving any of them. The iPhone does receive and send normal SMS and MMS as well as phone calls.

Let's look at some stupid, basic stuff. Double check the address, make sure you've typed it correctly. If you made a mistake and the email client is autofilling, you would have a problem. Make sure there's no "1" in front of your number. Make sure you haven't accidentally blocked the contact (Settings>Messages>Blocked).

Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?

If I think of anything else, I'll post again.

Best of luck.
