iphone 5c not recognized in My Computer and in iTunes for Windows

I recently got a new green iPhone 5c. I'm trying to restore from my last back up from my old iphone, but the 5c will not connect to itunes. The iPhone is not shown in My Computer, or in iTunes, and the phone does not show that it is plugged in (it does, however, charge normally when using the wall charger). My old iPhone 4 connects to my computer just fine but for some reason the 5c won't. Any help is greatly appreciated.

FIXED:

Start menu > Search "Device Manager" > Portable Devices > iPhone > Properties > Driver > Update Driver

For some reason Apple Mobile Support was showing up in my Uninstall Programs but was apparently incorrectly installed. Reinstalling iTunes did not fix. I don't know if I did something wrong while troubleshooting uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes, but this is what fixed my issues. Hopefully it proves helpful for someone else.

This worked for me, but the answer is missing one step:

Start menu > Search "Device Manager" > Portable Devices > iPhone > Properties > Driver > Update Driver

Missing Part:

> Click "Browser my Computer for Driver Software"

> Browse to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers"

> click ok > next

> Restart iTunes

Thanks! Hope this helps someone.
