something is taking up space on my mac, I delete file and it gives me space but then the space is full by itself

I did that yesterday, I got back 13 gb and today its down to 4gb again. Something is using all of my space automatically. This just started from Saturday.

OS X, I have deleted a lot of files i'm scared to delete ones that I don't recognize.

Have you recently started Time Machine or changed any settings? If you go to System Preferences->Time Machine is it on?
