Thanks very much for the reply!

I downloaded the firmware upgrade from Cisco (Now owns tandberg), but even though I the camera has power, the software says the camera is not present. I connected the camera to my Windows 7 pc and it worked fine. That tells me that the camera is functioning.

Don't know what I need to do, for the Mac mini to recognize it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help. But no luck. Unfortunately, I can't install Jabber, since I don't have a contract wtih Cisco. not sure what else to try. If I can get the mac mini to recognize the camera, then I could do the firmware upgrade. But I can't get the mini to see it.

The cisco guides suggest using photobooth which I tried, but it didn't see it either. Anyother software or maybe something I can do in system preferences?

Thanks,

As was stated, Macs are particular about what webcams will and won't work. It's the ONE area that they AREN'T "plug n play".
The list of cams that work with each different build of OS X is about four of five in some cases and as many as about ten in others.

My webcam and headset were the LAST two accessories I got for my Mini for just that reason. I did a LOT of research into what would and wouldn't work, before plopping down cash.

The LAST thing I used to get a "Windows cam" to work was an app called "MaCam", but it's a PPC app, so it's useless anymore.
Your only other option would be to install Parallels or VMWare Fusion... or set up a Boot Camp partition and run the cam from Windows that way.

I've never installed a Boot Camp OS, but my Windows XP, 7 and 8 ALL recognize my Logitech cam and headset for Skype in VMs with Parallels. It's probably work with your cam.
