    Hi,

    Do a Get info on...

    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail

Folder & the folders within that folder.

    Hi,

Thanks. Have tried it all but without success. Any other suggestions?

    Two ways to go...

#1. Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, when done trash this file, then reboot & try it...

    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist

#2, In System Preferences>Accounts, unlock the lock, click the little + icon & add a new Admin user, log into that account & see if it works.

    Thanks BDAqua,

Option #1 didn't work, still unable to open Mail

Option #2 worked fine. As new user with Admin priviledges, Mail opened and account created. Now I am able to access new mails but all old ones are unaccessible.

    Thanks again

We should be able to import the missing maeil, or possibly fix the old account's Mail if you wish.
