MagSafe Power Adapter Shows Fraying/Damage

To whom it may concern,

I don't know if anybody ever had this, but the MagSafe power adapter showed some fraying or strain damage. The frayed wire is located on the base part of the power adapter. I've had the MacBook Pro for five years and it's been doing great for me. I use my laptop for technical support; photography and web design. Since the power adapter has frayed wires, now my laptop won't turn on at all and it doesn't have any warranty. Wasn't there a program where Apple replaced MagSafe power adapter due to frayed or damaged adapter? If so, I would love to know and what I should do to get my adapter replaced.

Thank you.
