Q: Stop persistent nuisance facetime messages
I am receiving recieving persistent nuisance (rude) facetime messages on my iphone. The messages appear to be coming from my friend's ipad, whose name appears on my phone as the message sender. The sender initially fooled me into replying, as I thought I was talking to my friend - then it turned into rude messaging, which is very unsettling. I have received further messages making me feel I am being stalked. My friend is definitely NOT the sender but the message threads appear on his ipad. Someone is hacking his ipad in order to message me.
I could turn off facetime altogether but that's not ideal. I have read on other discussions here that you cannot block callers on facetime. I understand that facetime connects using an email address (I think): does that mean the stalker knows my phone number and email address and could use them elsewhere to contact me even if I create a new email address and check only use that email address for facetime?
Should my friend change his email contact on his ipad? How can my friend track who is using his identity? My friend's ipad is supplied by his workplace who are investigating the hacking.
I am new to iphones and facetime and am loathe to facetime anyone else incase the stalker contacts me. Can anyone help?
