You can try a SMC reset:

Follow directions for "a battery you should not remove yourself"
Something to check, go to system preferences/security&privacy, general tab see if Require password for sleep and screen saver is checked. If it is try un checking it and see what happens.
Do you have external drive(s) connected?
If no joy take it to an Apple store Genius bar (make an appointment) and have it checked out, you should not have to deal with anything as you are under warranty. This is their problem. Take full advantage of your warranty.

The double login prompt can be caused by FileVault in certain configurations.
