How do I use Mainstage to trigger my own samples with an Alesis Controlpad?

I got mainstage to use as the software to power my Alesis Controlpad, which is an 8-pad electronic drum pad, usb/midi.

I want to use samples created by the singer of my band, who is a professional recording engineer. We want to create industrial type sounds by recording found-percussion and adding effects, then import these samples we've created, and perform industrial drum loops live.

can't figure out how to import the audio files.

MainStage, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), http://www.alesis.com/controlpad

As for importing audio samples into EXS, this works well for me:

Create a new channel strip. Select EXS24 as your instrument in the I/O box.

Open EXS24 by double-clicking on it in the I/O box of the channel strip if it is not already open.

Select edit(it's in the upper right area of EXS24, beside options). This opens the EXS instrument editor page. Drag or copy your samples here. This is where you assign key, pitch, range, etc.

When you finish editing, save your instrument by selecting instrument in the toolbar>save as.

Hope this will get you started.
