Hey everybody. Finally Mavericks is available. So if I upgrade from Mountain Lion, will I lose all my files and apps? It's going to be my first OS X upgrade so I do not know that.

No, but backup first.
No, unless something goes wrong. You should always make a backup just in case. However, updating will not intentionally delete files, chances are your data will be retained.
