OSX Maverick... Updated Bootcamp Drivers?

Do you know if I will lose my Windows 7 Bootcamp partition when I upgrade to Mavericks? My Windows 7 partition was invisible last year when upgrading to Mountain Lion.

I do not know. In theory it should be fine.

I remember when I upgraded from 10.6 to 10.8 I was no longer able to boot into the windows partition. It had done something to the windows boot sequence and would not boot. I think this is because it created a recovery partition on the HDD. I was still able to access all the data that was on my bootcamp partition while I was in 10.8.

Hopefully some people try it and we will get a clear answer.

I just installed Mavericks and it broke my bootcamp really bad, I can't see the bootcamp drive at all.

I have an internal 750GB drive and and simple 2 partition setup, one for mac and one for windows.

OMG... I'm also having the same setup. Thought of upgrading to Mavericks.... hmmmm now need to rethink and wait for sometime, as it is my official one and cannot take any risk on this.... :-(

Driver version appears to be the same as before 5.0.533 (dated Jan 16, 2013)

i upgraded to Mavericks and my Bootcamp partition is still fully operational. last year i couldn't access Bootcamp anymore after upgrading to ML. weird cause i did it the exact same way

I upgraded to Mavericks on my 2010 Macbook Pro and I have no issues changing over to my bootcamped Windows 8.1.

However, I upgraded to Mavericks on my 2009 iMac, and though I can switch over to my bootcamped Windows 7, it refused to log onto my user account...and I have no clue why. I had no issue with it before I upgraded to Mavericks. However I don't think Mavericks is the issue for me. But I've had issues with my iMac and I ended up completely removing the Windows 7 Partition last night. I think the problem happend when the Apple store ran diagnostic tests on my iMac..because my problem definitely lies in the Windows side of things. I don't think Mavericks has anything to do with it, even though I only noticed this directly after the upgrade.

So overall, I have had no issue upgrading to Mavericks and using my bootcamped Windows Partition. I hope someone comes along with an answer for those of you having issues. 😟

I have spent a whole lot of hours trying to install Windows 7 Pro in my MacBook Pro. Feeling like am butting my head on the wall. Can you help please? Here is what I posted last night:

"Okay... 1) did all the instructed "homework" to prepare the MacBook Pro. Backed everything up on an external 500 gB drive via Time Machine after making certain the OS X MAVERICKS was completely updated and no more software updates.

2) Re-formated/erased my 16 gB flash drive (on the Mac) to be certain it would have the right FAT formatting. Had tried to do it on the desktop PC and the Boot Camp assistant would not accept it. Accepted after the Mac formating.

3) Downloaded the MS Windows Support software to the Flash Drive as directed from within the BootCamp Assistant

Selected the partitioning choices:

OS X: 629 gB and 552 gB free

WINDOWS: 120 gB (recommended by a knowledgeable friend

4) partitioning failed so.....

5) re-installed OS X MAVERICKS again using the Restart>>>Command R held down & selected the "re-install OS X"

6) tried BootCamp Assistant again then tried to partition

failed again

7) Re-started again by clicking the Apple re-start then held down the Command R again to select:

Disk Repair and it was okay

8) Verified disk permissions

9) Repaired disk permissions

10) Ran Boot Camp Assistant again but still keep getting this error message

" Your disk could not be partitioned" "an error occurred while partitioning the disk"

My Bootcamp broke (The MBR was erased for my Windows 8.1 Partition).

I think the cause of the problems is it looks like the Windows partition was resized in order to allow an increase in the hidden recovery partition to store the Mavericks recovery data.

This resize blew away the MBR for windows, which when I attempt to boot it displays a Insert System Disk error.

I certainly didnt resize my Windows Partition, however its size has definitely decreased by a couple of Gb since I last installed Windows 8.1 (a fortnight ago)

Sigh........

My bootcamp broke as well

The windows partition disappeared.

The exFAT shared partition disappeared

I managed to recover the windows partition using the windows recovery CD

But I am still strugling with all the data lost in the exFat

Damned Mavericks, not worth the pain.

On the other side, bootcamp Windows 8 upgraded to 8.1 seamlessly

So one point to microsoft, zero to apple.

I upgraded from OS X 10.8 to 10.9 with a Bootcamp Win7 partition and all is working normally. No apparent change in the Win drivers. Computer is a mid-2013 13" MB Air with 512 GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM.
