So far Flip4Mac and DivX is incompatible with Maverick. Asking me to allow Google Chrome to control my computer through Accessibility. What? Denied.

    Hi jamesfromcortez

For what it's worth DivX works fine with Mavericks, and I believe Flip4Mac does too. Your issue is probably Chrome, which is suffering from a lot of complaints that appear to be due to its many extensions.

Try using another browser. I recommend one that's written by a company that knows how to develop for OS X. Google has had years to do that and they just can't seem to get it right.

Safari is the fastest and most power-efficent browser of any on the market.

Installed Mavericks and the new version of Safari wont let me open my Pay pal account, or even get into their web site. Had to install Chrome to get to my account. Mavericks is slowing my machine drastically. Wish i had not bothered..

Revert back to the backup you made before you installed Mavericks. It amazes me how many dove in for the free update without preparing their systems and discs and now wonder why they have issues.

But I suppose history on these forums show that this happens with every new OSX ever so the complaints are not new.

You're lucky. Many of us were not so lucky and Apple has no answers.

I did make the backups and did all of the prerequisite work required, and no one can explain or help me fix the fact that all of the Apple apps just lock up, that's it, even the little black apple in the upper left hand corner. They are still telling me I need to talk to this mysterious engineer who is hard to get help from. Not everyone having problems "dove in" for a "free" upgrade. Not everyone did not "prepare" their systems. After doing all of that yes I am wondering why I am having "issues" and I feel badly for anyone having issues. Not "everyone" is a new OSX user as well.

I hope that all of us who are not from the Genius Bar or wherever you are from, are able to get their problems resolved. Peace.

I am just a user as well, thanks. Nothing to do with Apple Co. You will only see people here that are having issues. It is a Troubleshooting forum. User to user. There is no reason to see the millions of Mavericks user who are having no issues around here. Just the minority  that are having issues.

    Cheers

Oh no I didn't use CCleaner, I wrote to the person that used it that it would not run on Mavericks. Thanks I will try your suggestions. This is very frustrating. I did my backup, all of the prep work and I have never had a problem with an upgrade. My Mac is only a few months old and I've never had a problem. None of the repair or problem solving suggestions from the Apple Tech helped me. He is going to have an engineer help he said I have to wait and hear from him. Thank You, you're very nice.

I've had so few problems with my Apple devices I may not be doing it properly. I did ask the question, opening a new discussion? and no one answered, so I tried to find one with the same problems that I am having. Thank You again John Galt.

I upgraded after a scheduled backup and clone. I unplugged my backup device. The upgrade went very smoothly. The only problem I have is that Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 no longer works. It crashes about 5 seconds after starting. Adobe is no help, so I won't be web developing until something better comes along.

LOL!!!  Sounds like Mavericks is 'NSA Friendly'?  I'll wait until after the first update or two to migrate from Mountain Lion.

According to this Web page it should be compatible.  Look in the crash log for other third-party software that might be causing the crashes.
