Told my 1st Gen MacBook Air can run Mavericks

The keynote today made it sound like Mavericks would run on older hardware.

I am being told that my 1st Gen MacBook Air cannot run Mavericks?

It is showing me the Moutain Lion error messages. I know it won't run Mountain Lion.

Where is the Mavericks error messages?

Was the keynote misleading?

If it won't run Mountain Lion, it won't run Mavericks. Here's the list of supported systems:

• iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)

• MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)

• MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)

• MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)

• Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)

• Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)

• Xserve (Early 2009)

Regards.
