Deleting Files from Time Machine

Hi,

I have an older iMac PPC running OS 10.5.8. I use Time Machine. There are a couple of files that I copied onto TM and then deleted off my computer. I am trying to delete them from Time Machine, but I can't. It won't let me. I've looked high and low through discussions and around the web, but can't find anything that works. Is there some way to delete a file by bypassing TM? I thought perhaps I could turn TM off, disconnect the external HD, plug it back in again with TM off, and be able to go in and delete files. Suggestions such as click on the file while holding down the control key, or using the TM menu bar or pop up menu don't exist for me. Nothing happens when I right click on a file while holding down the control key. Also I never see a TM menu bar.

Sincerely,

Jim

Hi Jim, you do not want to delete them using rhe Finder IF they were put there by TM.

I'm not very famailiar with TM, & our resident TM expert has recently passed away, no idea how long these links will last...

Have you looked through Pondini's extensive TM help site?

Can't imagine something not being covered there.
