Can't Verify OSX Mavericks Download

Installation of Mavericks fails and states that download is corrupt and to redownload from the App Store. This is my 4th time deleting and restarting the download. File is the correct size, intact, and in the applications folder. Any help is much appreciated. Even though I have Comcast Extreme 105, I hate burning the cycles on this.

Found a solution that worked for me. It seems that the installation process store the whole Mavericks Installation on RAM (I found out about this after running a program called Memory Cleaner) After the cleaning process was done, I started the installation again, this time it worked! So, check out the Memory Cleaner program from the App Store and run it to see how much RAM was occupied....

Wow ! After my 100th atempt, I was able to download and install Mavericks without any problems at all. I haven´t changed anything on my MacBook Air (late 2011). I had already decided to give up...... but today I was in good mood and tried again. Surprisingly, the download & install process ran smoothly. I have no idea if Apple has changed something in the installation file......

The solution is very simple.

On some Macs the system date is wrong.

Open Terminal (Utilities Terminal) and run the command

date

It will probably show a very old date

If you are expert change the date to latest date (couple of minutes +/- does not matter)

If you are not expert thanks to Michael Page. Follow his link on

When Mavericks came out I decied to wait a month just to see if it needed any bug fixes and finally a couple days ago decided to try the install. After the first ry ended with a failure to verify I found this post and all the replies. I tried about 5 times following various tips but none worked for me. Finally today I decideed to try again rebooting in safe mode this time and downloading the install package. To my surprise this time it seems to have worked. The program just finished the initial installation and restarted the computer. Now it says it is "Completing installation..." , and it now works great! So if you've run into this problem give the safe mode apporach a try.
