Q: Can't Verify OSX Mavericks Download

Installation of Mavericks fails and states that download is corrupt and to redownload from the App Store.  This is my 4th time deleting and restarting the download.  File is the correct size, intact, and in the applications folder.  Any help is much appreciated.  Even though I have Comcast Extreme 105, I hate burning the cycles on this.

Okay - this will probably sound stupid, but I cannot find an "App Folder" on my iMac.

I have tried to download Mavericks... it started and then nothing happened. Maybe it's there, but I can't find it. I tried again - went to the App Store, clicked on Upgrade and then Install App... and nothing happens.

Maybe it did download but is sitting in the App Folder waiting to be installed?

    HELP!

After 4 download, this morning the update worked without interruption. I do not understand the problem yet.

I've tried some more three times this morning, but the problem remains. I'm still getting the message that says the installation file may be corrupted and coud not be verified. I hope Apple is aware of this problem and soon addresses and solves this annoying issue.

I had forgotten to mention that I also have another MacBook (MacBook Pro early 2011) and the installation was successful, which makes me wonder the problem is related to some configuration on my MacBook Air.

Both Macs are/were previously running Montain Lion.

I don't know why after four attempts the update worked, I haven't changed anything on my iMac.

    Here is my hash:  SHA1(/Applications/Install OS X Mavericks.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg)= c7a73a914a8226f54087848e8706b0ef57219083

It's different each and every download.  What the heck is going on here?

Same problem with corrupt downloads here, happened twice yesterday and trying again today. I expected the App Store would do its own file validation, weird it doesn't.

To the guy who asked where is his App folder its in \Applications

I had this same issue and finally got it to work. i did 3 things differently the time i got it to work, not sure if any of them helped or if it was just a coincidence. i had tried 3 times yesterday and it worked on the 3rd time today. this is what i did

    1) i did not delete the old file, i jsut went to updates and downloaded it again (had tried this before)

    2) i fully scrolled down on the tearms and agreement (doubt this helped)

    3) i unplugged my external hard drive and extra display

these were the only differences between my 5th and 6th (successful) attempt.

not sure why the issue is happening, i have 2 macs, it worked perfectly on one (2013 iMac) and had this issue on the other (2009 Macbook)

    Hope this helps.

Finally after about 10 downloads it has worked! I did not change anything just kept deleting it and re-downloading it. Very strange... Good luck for those still trying!

Probably the files for certain specific Mac models are corrupted on SOME of the apple servers.  Whether you get the server you are hitting has the uncorrupted file depends on your luck. :(

I'll post the hash of my dmg file when I get home, assuming it didn't delete it after installation.
