Assigning Keyboard Shortcuts to Styles
In the previous version of Pages one could assign a keyboard shortcut to a style. I can't find this feature in the new version relesed today. Is it missing or hidden?

Looks like rather annoyingly, it's missing.
I like the update, but this one change makes me want to go back.
It's gone. This one change makes the new Pages such a step back for me that I can't use it. What made it great (over MS Word) was the simplicity and speed that I could work. Keyboard shortcuts for my basic paragraph styles were a big part of that. Big big big big mistake to remove this feature, especially since there's no obvious reason *to* remove it...
Yeah! Would LOVE to have the shortcut assignment to styles put back in the latest Pages v5.0.
This was a big part of my workflow.
Honestly, I'm livid.
I paid for Pages and iWork because, in my opinion, it was the best word processor on the market. It was lightweight, versitile, customizable, and fast.
Version 5.0, however, looks more refined, but is slow, clunky, and difficult. Beyond the missing keyboard shortcuts:
This is shameful and lazy. Google Docs, an online-only editor, has better keyboard shortcuts, useability, and cross-format compatibility. I preferred Pages '09 over any iteration of Google Docs, but now I find myself inclined to open up a web browser before opening up Pages 5.0—even on slow Internet connections.
Apple: please, please fix this. Or, update Pages '09 to be forward-compatible. Or hire me so I can do it myself. Yes, it bothers me that much.
For those of you that had Pages 09 you still have it on the computer in the appication folder > iWork.
Yes, but then as soon as a coworker edits a file, you're back to 5.0... then you have to convert it again, losing some formatting and any patience you may have had. It'd be easier to convert my entire library to Google Drive than have to deal with this on a daily basis.
So, so frustrating.
Then all of you should have the same Pages version, right?
Yes, apparantly the answer to this question is to not use the "new and improved version" since its not as good as the old one.
I expect Apple to add it back, but I also expect it to take a really long time since they can't focus on too many things at once.
deal breaker for me too. Will stick with old version, and look at alternatives (Nisus writer et al)
Many features have been removed from Pages 5 see:
Menawhile it probably is best to continue using Pages '09 if that is possible and if you are unhappy with Pages 5 give it a review and rating in the App Store.
