Upgraded from Keynote 08 to Keynote 6 cannot open document

It says "open it in Keynote 09" first.

How exactly am I supposed to do that, without Keynote 09 on my macbook air?

Your solution is more than welcome.

Did you ever get a response from Apple? I just ran into the same problem. I thought, why not purchase the latest version. But the latest version does not open old files. Who writes software that will not even open old documents created by it's own software.

If Microsoft created a new version of PowerPoint that would not open files created simply two versions ago, people would howl.

I'm usually a big fan of Apple, but this is unacceptable. I want to open my Keynote '08 (ver 4.x) files in the new version of Keynote. Either that or I want my money back. This is ridiculous.

Apple do not respond to users questions, this is a user to user help forum.

Its common for developers to create software that is not compatible with previous versions.

This is not possible you will have to convert them first.

Either that or I want my money back.

Phone Apple support, they can offer that option.
