Upgrading to a newer operating system

Hello,

I have being thinking about upgrading to a newer OS. I’m currently using a Macbook late ‘10 with snow leopard 10.6.8. But before I do, I want to know if it will improve in playing games. I play tf2 and other steam games. and what inprovements will there be if i do decide to do so.
