Aug 13, 2016 12:58 PM in response to mnsaintby userremoved,Hello everyone,
Just a quick question for you experts
I'm having a issue setting up a VPN I used to connect on Windows 7 Ultimate. Here on iOS X Mavericks 10.9.2 (actually is updating to 10.9.3) on omission settings, automatic encryption and just a password for authentiphication and IPv4 setting as "use PPP", tells me "can't stablish a connection with the PPP server".
Why is this? is a predifine configuration on Windows that Mac doesn't have?
Thanks a lot

May 19, 2014 8:30 AM in response to userremovedby BMcWhirt,Windows has several things disabled for export reasons or some other such nonsense.
The first reply here should help you out: http://www.macsupportguy.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=29621
Delete any VPN connections first as you have to create them after these steps or they will not work.

Aug 13, 2016 12:58 PM in response to BMcWhirtby userremoved,That's not what I was asking BMcWhirt, maybe I misspelled, sorry. I'm trying to connect from iOS X Mavericks 10.9.3 to a Server (probably on Windows Server 2008 or an appliance) via VPN. any docs? thanks!

Aug 8, 2014 11:20 AM in response to dejavupugby ray-n-tosca,RE: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
This turned out to be a problem with my cable modem/router. It seems that the Technicolor modems (used by Comcast, maybe others) have known issues with VPNs. What delayed diagnosing the problem is that Cisco AnyConnect, Juniper Networks VPN Client + two other less used clients worked fine. It was just vanilla PPTP (on both Mac & Windows OSes) VPN access that failed.

Oct 14, 2014 11:44 AM in response to mnsaintby jpmaren,I had Cisco IPSec issues after the Mavericks patch a week or two ago (10.9.5), with similar errors in my logs -
Oct 14 11:09:19 hostname configd[17]: IPSec connecting to server myvpnserver
Oct 14 11:09:19 hostname configd[17]: SCNC: start, triggered by (178) SystemUIServer, type IPSec, status 0, trafficClass 0
Oct 14 11:09:19 hostname configd[17]: IPSec Phase1 starting.
Oct 14 11:09:19 hostname configd[17]: IPSec port-mapping update for en0 indicates no NAT. Public Address: 80fcaaa9, Protocol: None, Private Port: 0, Public Port: 0.
Oct 14 11:09:19 hostname configd[17]: network changed.
Oct 14 11:09:19 hostname racoon[18536]: accepted connection on vpn control socket.
Oct 14 11:09:19 hostname racoon[18536]: no configuration found for myserverIP
Oct 14 11:09:29 hostname configd[17]: IPSec disconnecting from server myserverIP
Oct 14 11:09:29 hostname racoon[18536]: IPSec disconnecting from server myserverIP
FWIW, deleting and recreating my IPsec instances was the final fix. I tried modifying/creating various config files in the racoon directories, restarting racoon each time, but didn't have success until wiping out the VPN configs.
