Internet recovery says 'Must use Apple ID you used to purchase Lion'

I tried a clean install of Mavericks using internet recovery. It won't download instead it's says 'Must use Apple ID you used to purchase Lion' I did purchase Lion??

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9), 15" Early 2013

That is just recovery. It installs whatever is currently loaded. Internet Recovery installs the shipping OS and doesn't require a password. It is accessed with cmd-opt-r, or if you don't have an available boot drive.


If your Mac shipped with Mountain Lion, but was shipped very close to its release, Apple's database may think it shipped with Lion, and it will want a password to install Mountain Lion. You'll have to contact App Store Support to clear that up. There is a link in the App Store near the account links.
