Epson Perfection V500 Photo Scanner Drivers

I am experiencing the same problem. I have the same Epson scanner as you. It is frustrating. But, the only thing I could do was to use the IMAGE CAPTURE software app to get a scan. It's not as good as the EPSON app, but for now, that is all I can figure out. I've contacted Epson, and hopefully, they can update or work it so that we can use the EPSON app and not IMAGE CAPTURE. IMAGE CAPTURE is very limiting.

Hi! Yesterday, it was necessary to work and sat down to scan film. But it did not, because I have software version 3.7.1. I wrote to Epson, but have not yet responded. No updates there. This is sad. They're going to do something?: (

I am another who has been let down by either Epson or Apple with this update

Does anybody know when Epson / Apple will correct this failure?

same problem here, with a Perfection V30 scanner. Worked great until the Mavericks upgrade, now dead as a doornail. Hopefully the fix will come soon. Trying to figure out a work-around.

No software update for the Perfection V500 Photo.... Just great....

Same problem - Epson V500 Scanner - thanks for the tip about Image Capture Macaroni2 - its not the best as you said but better than nothing 🙂 I suppose its only just out so hopefully they will sort it soon.

Just ran Software Update and got really excited when I saw an update for Epson Printers and Scanners!

Ran the update and the opened the software - it doesn't look that great.

Looks exactly like Image Capture just labelled as Epson V500 😟 When you go into 'Show Details' you get more options but dosn't look that great. Maybe they just rushed it out quickly and will improve it? I suppose at least the brought it out quickly.

Darn, I ran my "software update" two minutes ago with my V500 switched on and got precisely.... nothing..... not even your 😟. So is this a "two tier" update world?

I haved the same problem with my epson V500 scanner. It does not work anymore on Mavericks.

Hope Apple will soon bring a solution !!😟

Important: Use Software Update before connecting a printer or scanner. This updates your Mac's database of the latest supported printer and scanner models. If you don't use Software Update before attempting to connect a new printer, you may not see available software when you connect your device.

For the V500, Epson give me this answer:

Effectivement la mise a jour Mavericks a rendu inutilisable certains pilotes, je vous propose d'utiliser le logiciel Transfert d'images en attendant une mise a jour prochaine (logiciel disponible dans votre dossier Applications).

Ils se foutent du monde, Maverick est disponible depuis des mois pour des dev.
