After installing Mavericks and using it for awhile I shutdown my MacBook AIr 2013.
Now on restart I get to login screen but after entering credentials screen flashes and return me to login screen.
Tried resetting VRAM and booting to safe mode but no change.
Any one solve this problem?

I'm having the same exact issue. I'm able to access the Guest account but as soon as I hit a key for my password to log in to my actual account, the computer restarts and won't let me access it. I've tried over and over but I'm not able to get in at all.
I am having the exact same issue. Every time I enter my password the screen flickers a little bit and then becomes completely white(ish) for about a second and then returns back to the login screen but the password field is blank. My 27" 2011 iMac is all but useless.
Anyone know a work around regarding this error? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,
I did have the same problem and for me it was caused by Mavericks setting the default keyboard layout to English/US. Actually I am using a German layout instead and my password contains special characters. Therefore I misspelled and was not able to login. If this apply to you: you may change the keyboard layout on the login screen, top right corner.
Same problem here on a mid-2011 21.5" iMac. I am using a wired Apple keyboard and am able to log in as follows: when I get to the login screen I unplug the keyboard, wait a few seconds and then plug it back in. At that point I can log in. If I don't do this the Mac will crash and restart. Very annoying 😠and I hope Apple fixes this very quickly!
Note that on my mid-2012 13" Macbook Air the login screen crashed and rebooted the first time after installing Mavericks, but since then it's been working fine.
Exact same problem, and not uncommon. So it seems the shiny new update has bricked quite a few computers. This and iOS 7 has been a disaster. Anyone get in touch with apple?
Thank goodness I cloned my startup and installed Mavericks on the clone. I, too, cannot log into anything but the Guest account, where I cannot do anything, anyway, since no apps are available there to use. Time to go back to my Mountain Lion startup and thank my lucky stars that my upgrade paranoia (hence the clone) paid off.
Booted to repair mode, tried to repair the startup clone hard drive on which I installed Mavericks, met with: "Error: Live file system repair is not supported." Never seen that before.

Looks like I may have been trying to repair the EFI partition containing the recovery volume I had booted to.
sold2Him, that must be it. I use an Eikon fingerprint reader. Don't want to lose it, either :-(
I too use the Eikom reader. So, I used my backup to restore Mountain Lion and ran the unistaller for Truesuite. Then did a clean install of Mavericks and used migration assistant to load my data. All seems well at this time. Holding breath.
I too had a problem with login. where i had no password set before i used to enter by clicking return button.Now it is not logging in
I solved this problem by logging in as a guest user and going to users and groups and taking off the password for my admin account. I use a eikon reader as well and believe that this is the source of the problem.

MBP MD101 (mid 2012) + Apple Wired Keyboard
If a wired apple keyboard is connected - I can not write the password of the account (the OS X - crashes). If the keyboard is not connected - everything is in order. Now I use my old wireless Apple keyboard. Everything is working fine.
If you have a solution, please let us know.
