!!!!UPDATE SOLUTION!!!!

Hello all,

I know that many of you, myself included, may have been experiencing trouble updating to the current version of iWorks with Mavericks. I have found a solution.

TO DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE, REGARDLESS OF HOW YOU HAVE iWORKS(APP STORE/DISK):

Create a new user account under System Preferences, it doesn't matter the type of account. Once you create this account, log in with the same Apple ID you use for purchases. Go to the Mac App Store>Updates and Voila, updates are available.

I have talked to Apple and they are aware of the situation, the engineers are on it and they are planning on having a solution (If mine doesn't work for you) by Friday (10/25). They will probably provide iWork owners a redeemable code, or release an update via Apple.com/support.

An easier solution I found on Macworld:

OK I was having trouble with with 2011 Mac Mini and iWork I bought on DVD & the preinstalled iWork not updating.

Here's how I got it to update in through the app store.

Open App Store on your Mac if they don't show as an update in the tab and are not in your Purchases tab, go to the Featured tab & click Account under Quick Links, enter your password, & click Reset all warning for buying and downloading at the bottom of this page, & click Done.

Check your updates tab & iWork & iLife updates should now appear, at least this is how I got it to work on my 2011 Mac Mini.

After hours of searching and testing many solutions people said to work for them (but didn't work for me), I managed to get all iWork apps in the app store and to update for free with these steps:

1. Install iWork'09 from CD/DVD if you don't have iWork installed

2. Update iWork'09 to version 9.3 manually (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1563)

3. Change your system language to english in system preferences -> languages

4. Reboot and log in to guest account

5. Open the Mac App Store and log in

6. At this point you should be able to update directly from the featured page (or the app pages)

7. Install all updates, reboot and log in to your normal user account and change the language back to whatever you like

Your iWork apps should show in the list of your buyed apps

Hope this helps 🙂

Yes!

The language setting is the issue!

I allready had an updated iwork 09 (version 9,3) so I went directly to step 3 in the advice from Cyge above. Then I rebooted (I did not log in to guest account).

Change your system languge to english in system preferences (languages), reboot and visit the apstore for dowloading. That´s was the only thing I did to make it happen.

Thank you very much for the advice.
