I tried restart but same message "downloaded" but apparently not.
Please HELP!

If it's downloaded and not installed, look for the installer in /Applications and double click it.
Mine downloaded and went directly to install. Do you have enough room on your hard drive. There is apparently a 5+ requirement.
#1 - Got 368 GB free on my late 2010 27" i3 iMac.
#2 - YES! Found Applications Mavericks Installer, clicked and it's continuing install. Many say that probly Apple's servers are overloaded. I'm patient. As long as it takes and as many restarts, I'm eventually fine.

Opps! just got another error msg. Click App Mav Install again and it continues. May take all day. I got all day.
