Mavericks Mail App and Gmail folders

I have installed Mavericks on my MBA. Now in the mail app, when I drag messages from the inbox to a gmail folder, they leave the inbox. But if I click off of the inbox and then click back on it - they reappear in the inbox.

Anyone else having this problem?

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

I'm installing the update and the mails database upgrade step is taking a long time (45 minutes so far) ... I have 5 gmail accounts (covering 4 businesses and a personal account) with approx 700k messages (total). There are disk reads and writes occurring - but I am staying at about 45% complete. Very little network activity (and packet count for Mail in Activity Monitor is 0) so I am presuming that Mail is "fixing" all of the flags locally and soon it will hook up with Google do what ever is next.

The main problem I was experiencing - and the reason I had to switch to Airmail (despite some eccentricities in that program as well) - is because some mail sitting there in Gmail simply was never coming in to Apple Mail. I could see it over at Gmail on the web. I could see in in iOS 7 Mail on my iPhone 5 and iPad 2. But no matter how long I waited, some mail simply never appeared in my Apple Mail mailbox.

I used all standard settings and never went for customizing setups as recommended at TidBits or wherever.

So I'm curious if that issue has been fixed.

Not getting mail is obviously a show-stopper for anybody. At least in Airmail the mail is getting delivered.

I just don't get it. I'm sitting here getting notices of 4 new mails on my Nexus 7. I see 4 new mails waiting for me on my iPhone 5 in iOS 7 Mail. But the new mails simply aren't showing up in the upgraded version of Mavericks Mail.app. I try refreshing with get all mail, but that doesn't help. It's just... buggy.

I guess I'm back to Airmail for now. Despite the eccentricities, at least it delivers the mail! 🙂

Post-update: For me Archive/All mail are working, the emails are arriving, but the INBOX as you are saying REALLY still doesnt update even after the update.

This is horrible. Mac mail was the best email client in the world, and they just screwed it up sooo bad. Why don't they just RETURN it to the way it worked??? There are ZERO updates in the mac mail.

Any way how to go a version back on Mavericks?? It was perfectly fine.

Post update most things seem to be working. I am a heavy Gmail IMAP user with 3 different accounts setup through Mail. One BIG exception:

ISSUE:

Inbox Label Still Appearing on messages moved to Trash

Deleting a message from Mavericks Mail (using either the Delete key, dragging the message to the new Trash icon in the sidebar, or clicking the Trash button in the toolbar) results in the message properly being moved to the Trash folder, HOWEVER, if you view the message in the Gmail web client it still has the Inbox label attached to it (even though it is in the trash).

This doesn't seem to have any effect on the message showing up back in the Inbox, or any affect on any other Apple Mail client (iPhone iOS7, iPad iOS6), but could be a long term issue if either the Mavericks Mail or Gmail itself decides to read that Inbox label.

Any suggestions or other users with the same issue?

One more issue to add to the list:

ISSUE:

PDFs attached to email no longer preview with form fields filled.

We frequently use PDFs with form fields to be filled in. Mail (before Mavericks) would show a preview of the PDF with whatever had been filled into the form fields. Now the PDFs just appear blank in the preview in the body of the email, though when you do open the PDF attachment in Adobe Acrobat the form fields are filled and appear properly.

Also - what happened to the Quick View and Save / Save All button that used to be in the upper right hand corner of the emails?

(I know, Apple will probably say that the above are new "Features")
