OK so you have an issue with GMail as a mail system in general. That's fine.
But I don't care about how this effects Windows. In fact I don't care about Windows.. if I did. I'd use it. And that's not at issue here.
The issue is that at least part of Apple "gets it" when it comes to working with Gmail/IMAP and certain developers do also (AirMail, and Thunderbird both work with Gmail/IMAP just fine).
Apple needs to do something about it. It's that simple. Until then we can all at least share what we find from here.
