iBooks not opening books

I am having this exact same problem. Hope someone has come up with a solution.

I am also having the same problem. The book opens up and then immediately crushes. The iBooks program is still open but not responsive.

Go to the Windows menu and choose Minimize and you should see the book fly down into the Dock from off screen.

It's as if it's opening in it's own Space. If you choose Zoom it might come into view.

Weird.

i have the same problem in ibooks.....it works only in full screen mode!!!

I'm having the same issue. I was thinking of trashing prefs to see if it fixes this. Otherwise, I tried logging out and logging back in. Another thing I might try is downloading a brand new book directly in iBooks ie something free.

Are you viewing the app in another space or screen? Also, after the book "disappears" try going to

Window > Zoom

No other Spaces set up. Just main Desktop but the Book window clearly disappears offscreen.

Window > Zoom does help for me in that the book will appear in a small window. From there going Fullscreen works.

But the next time I open iBooks I have to go through the same process all over again.

Reminds me of issues I used to see on other machines of windows trying to open in the screen of an external monitor that is no longer attached. Maybe I should delete Display preferences.

Well, in my case, the book opens BUT within a few seconds I don't have any control - both the book AND app freeze - spinning wheel.

The only way out is Force Quit.

Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. The zoom workaround seems to work for now. I just enlarge that tiny window until it is a readable size. But this is a terrible app! I've never seen Apple do such a bad job on such a simple task. Hopefully there will be a permanent fix right away.

Everyone who has this problem please report it to Apple. They'll fix it if they get enough reports of problems.

I am having the same problem. I doubel click on the book, and then it just disappears and then I can't open ibooks anymore unless I quit the application and then re-open it. Help!!!!!!!!!

Mine mysteriously started working today also. Odd, indeed.
