MS Word keeps crashing in OSX10.9

Re: OSX 10.9. Since I downloaded it today, MS Word v 14.0 keeps crashing. Any ideas what to do?

Only Word was crashing on me all of a sudden, using Mac OSX 10.9.5, reinstalled Office 2011 (14.5.2) two times and updated to 14.7.7. Refuse to update to 10.10, so don't mention it. I removed the duplicate fonts and still crashing as soon as I opened a new document in word. SOLUTION: Don't open a new document, just open an older .doc file on your computer and then it did not crash, for now... I still think its a font based error that is causing this. It began to crash after I installed Futura T and some other fonts.

You mention Word version 14.0. That seems to imply that you haven't installed any of the updates (in Word, select Help -> Check for updates). Is that correct? The current version of Word for Mac 2011, as of this moment, is 14.3.8, and I'm not noticing any crashing (I just installed Mavericks today, too).

I'd check those updates, if I were you. 😉

Excel and PP work fine. I did reinstall the whole microsoft office package from scratch, that is deleted ALL of its files across the HD, but to no avail. I guess Microsoft has, again, proven to be a ****** company. Office has always been very slow, and sometimes also unresponsive. Nothing like its windows version - wich works way better. I think the do it deliberately just to make sure that one day, when you've had enough, you'll run back to its windows lair...
