Q: Mavericks Mail app and Gmail Drafts folder

I am having the same trouble with the saving drafts on server and I keep unchecking the box but it keeps checking the box. I am using AOL IMAP with Mac Mail so can someone give me some instructions of how to fix it?

It seemed to work last night, but then this morning "Mail" is saving and trashing draft emails every minute or so. There is going to be a ton of trash in a very few days. Strangely, in one of my G-mail accounts in "Mail", the "Store drafts on server" will stay unchecked and another will not(?).

I should have more clear... I did try Steve's fix and wrote my comment a day later. Sure seems like a Mavericks issue to me.

Totally agree. Apple dropped the ball on this one.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this peculiar issue. Exactly the same problem as described by Igor.D and will try Steve's solution that has worked for so many others. Let's hope Mac get's this sorted sooner rather than later.

There is an APP in the APP STORE which I about to  try again.. Last used in Lion.  Its called Mail Remedy and it is designed to clear these caches that arise .. Maybe everyone needs to buy that as well . I think it was only a few dollars.

The solution by Steve seems to have worked for me too. Recommend it.

Strangely, now a few days later, the issues have stopped.
