Nov 16, 2013 12:53 AM in response to therealiktby Philio,As a user of both platforms I'd say that Apple are definately the greater of 2 evils here. Most Google services are platform agnostic, whereas most Apple services are completely propietory.
Apple are slow to fix bugs at the best of times, there is an awesome bug in iOS 7 that my friend has which prevents WiFi from being turned on and it seems the only solution is a replacement device. It's taking her 3-4 weeks to get appointments to see a "genius" in a store to sort it.
In contrast, I called Google support about a screen problem with my Chromebook Pixel (gifted at Google I/O) and they will cross ship a brand new replacement no questions asked.

Nov 16, 2013 1:03 AM in response to therealiktby LeBalladeer,Apple scuks when it comes to a web service, so there is no chance they will go after Gmail. No way. It scuks in general when it comes to service. Look at iCloud! The fanbois shall alwas decalre it the best things ever happened to platent earth after fire or maybe the wheel.
Even if it does so, it will make sure that if you send an email from a Mac you can read it only on an iThing. Or maybe they can as well decide to limit the availability, of that mail, to another Mac only; you never know.

Nov 22, 2013 1:43 PM in response to Igor D.by sojourner16,Here's a new mail client for Mac that seems worthy of good hard look as a Mail.app replacement!

Nov 24, 2013 10:37 AM in response to Steve Rhyneby Zacharias Beckman,Wow, thank you. This seems to have solved the problem of literally hundreds of partial drafts from popping up all over the place.
Apple scuks when it comes to working with Gmail. I swear they are intentionally trying to hose it so we switch to iCloud (*NOT* gonna happen).
FYI, for all of you sick of Apple Mail making a mess of your GoogleApps mailbox... give Airmail.app a try. It's good. It's not quite as good as Mail.app when it comes to searching and editing but it's getting really, really close...

Nov 29, 2013 8:31 AM in response to Igor D.by Lemon-Juice,Same problem.
With Mavericks Apple seems to bully Gmail users...
With the latest Mail update the problem with Gmail labels is fixed, but notification incoming mails is still delayed sometimes.
And now, I have thousands of drafts in Gmail for every mail I write... -.-

Dec 3, 2013 2:13 PM in response to Phil_Ken_Sebbenby drisley,Thanks Phil. I guess there are no settings on the outlook webmail side like gmail to help fix this.
You have the same issue?

Dec 3, 2013 2:16 PM in response to drisleyby Phil_Ken_Sebben,yep its an odd one but microsoft have only just gotten round to doing IMAP and its still a bit off. Yeah same problem and also had an email disapear on me last week. But hopefully there will be another update for mail. I've sent some feedback to Apple letting them know mail is still buggered

Dec 3, 2013 2:37 PM in response to Phil_Ken_Sebbenby drisley,The bigger issue I have is duplicate messages in my SENT folder.
Maybe it's related to the DRAFTS issue.

Dec 3, 2013 2:57 PM in response to Phil_Ken_Sebbenby drisley,AHA!!! I found THIS out to help duplicate SENT items and make your settings stick (when using outlook.com anyway with IMAP).
Instead of going to MAIL>Preferences...
When MAIL is open on the bottom left there is a gear icon with a down arrow.
Click on that and scroll down to GET ACCOUNT INFO.
I can now deselect the DRAFTS selection and the SENT (store messages on the server) and the settings actually WORK! No more dups in SENT!
These changes aren't shown in the MAIL>PREFERENCES though, but it works for me. Definitely a MAIL app bug for apple then.
SPOKE TOO SOON: After quitting the Mail app and restarting the settings revert back to being checked ON. :S
