I guess you didn't read the title of this discussion.

The problem is that they cannot delete a blank page. I don't mind you trying to label things, but my post IS a solution no matter what you label it.

****, anyone's post on here is a solution to the actual chosen solution. I don't know what idiot chose that post, because it certainly is not helpful to anyone actually looking for an answer.

Your point about this thread being "old" is not true because I came here looking for answers. This thread is still relevant, and Pages still hasn't fixed anything.

And knock off the sarcastic name calling. This is Apple, we are better than that.

Let's keep things friendly and helpful.

They could not delete the blank page because they were referring to Pages 5.0 and wanted to delete the thumbnail. You can always delete content, which fruhulda pointed out right at the beginning.

The latest solution referred to, only works very recently in Pages 5.2 and has been well covered just about everywhere in this forum.

As to name calling [don't know to what you are referring], seems odd that in the same post you refer to "what idiot…" and the "****" is up to our imagination.

    Peter

PS  Speaking of names I corrected the misnaming of all the "pages", "Body", "regular pages" etc you referred to. It doesn't help if you make up names for objects in Pages, since no-one else will find anything that matches.

This only works if the page you want to delete is on a different section from other pages on the documents.

Inside pages, there is a view button on the top left hand side of the window. Click that then click show page thumbnails. Then all your pages in your document will appear click the page you want to delete then hit the delete key on your keyboard then confirm delete duplicate and moving of pages works there too. =)

Nope. In pages 5 that deletes the whole document. Not just the page.

The way you do it is to click in the page you want to delete, right click and choose cut.

    Poof. The page goes away.

I don't know what you think you are describing but I can not think of any circumstance under which any of that works.

I think you are talking about iBooks Author, not Pages.

Well, I just did it and the empty page that I had added as an "insert page break" was deleted from my document.

So really what you did was delete the Page Break?

That is not deleting the page.

Thank you for all your help Peter. I know it must be difficult to reign in that sarcastic attitude you have.

I was looking for a way to delete a page break that I had added by accident in Pages 5. It was at the end of my document with no content on it. I right clicked on the page (not thumbnail view) and choose cut. It went away.

That was my goal. I guess your's is to be an as_ _ _ _ e to people trying to figure this out. How in the world you got to be level 7 with your attitude is beyond me.

But then so is Pages 5. Thank you and I am now done with this thread.

I get to the level I have by reading the topic, paying attention and checking what I recommend, so I don't confuse other people who come here for accurate advice.

There is a difference to deleting the Page Break and deleting the Page and its contents.

Just as deleting a paragraph return does not delete the paragraph.

I fail to see the "sarcastic attitude" you allege. All I did was correct the errors.

I am not sure what example you are trying to set by swearing at people on this forum.

I found a solution to all of the problems on this page... toss f@#$%^&! Pages in the trash where it belongs... reboot in Windows and use Word! I had to rebuild the document (which cost a couple days of work), but it still saved me tons of time, frustration and $$$! Thanks Apple! Great Software Design! It will NEVER be reinstalled! In fact, after 31 years... I think I'll just leave Windows running a while! A good while!

    Upstream and others,

First of all, People have the nerve to complain about a free piece of software, that you aren't paying a dime for. You expect it to be like WORD, and FOR FREE. You got some nerve really? If you want all the features and bells and whistles as word, then apple will need to charge you, and rightfully so.

People have such audacity nowadays, and expect the world for free. Do you go to the mechanic, and ask for your tires to be rotated, and brakes aligned for free? and then complain that he didn't do a good job after he charged you nothing....well some people would, because they have no class, but in the real world you should be thankful for what you just received.

People are never happy, and want more and more for nothing. Spend $120 on the advanced iWork Suite that contains all of your wants....No that's right, you don't want it now, because it's not free...

    People are sad period.

Thanks for the advice Wescravn... that's exactly what we've done. We rebooted into Windows, installed Word and got some WORK done. I bought my first Mac in 1984, have owned probably 15 personally and don't have any idea how many I have bought within my company and this is my first time to run Windows.

Apple chose to give it away. Many here paid for the original iWork and all the upgrades.

Apple may have decided to give it away when they found out just how bad it was just before release, …but didn't tell their users.
