I may have found the fix. At least it's working for me for the time being. Create a brand new network "Location" in the "Network" pane of "System Preferences". It can't be a duplicate of your current "Location" (I tried that); it must be a brand new location:
1) Quit iTunes if it's running.
2) Select "System Preferences..." from the Apple menu in the top left corner of the screen.
2) Click once on "Network".
3) Write down or take screenshots of your network settings. [beyond the scope of these instructions]
4) Click on the "Location:" drop-down menu and select "Edit Locations...".
5) Click the "+" button to create a new location. Name it and click "Done".
6) Configure your network settings [beyond the scope of these instructions] and click "Apply".
7) Open a web browser and visit a web site to make sure your new network settings are working.
8) Open iTunes and watch your iOS devices appear again.

Nov 4, 2013 1:29 AM in response to Richard2by yancy,Mountain Lion will be for Apple what Windows XP was to Microsoft, the operating system that rather a lot of users would not upgrade.
or what about a "go in" (flash mob) in the retail stores, and ask for support ;-))

Nov 4, 2013 11:29 AM in response to explorzby SimonAero,Really annoying - thanks Apple. IPad & iPhone not local syching with mail, calendar, music, movie etc. since installing Mavericks. I'm assuming this is a revenue conspiracy to drive i-cloud storage usage.
Just adding my 1c as a very loyal Apple customer whose genuinely fed up. Missed 2 meetings today as my calandar entries were blank and couldn't listen to new music tracks on the way home.
Anyone got any ideas - Tim Cook, have a think about fixing this please. i-Cloud is expensive and as unsecure as all the other cloud storage offerings.

Nov 4, 2013 7:06 PM in response to Steve Rhyneby Jason Kim,Wow Steve, I tried your solution last week and it did not work, but after reading how many people were getting results, I just tried it again and suddenly it worked! Don't know what I did differently this time. What a relief!
explorz, if Steve's trick works for you too, be sure to +10 his post! I would +100 it if I could.

Nov 5, 2013 7:09 AM in response to explorzby jocol,Hi Steve,
Sounds good that your "fix" is working - but is it taking care of the original issue? In my case - the iphone and ipad are recognized by by computer and itunes - and will transfer everything but my calender and contacts - and as previously mentioned by myself and others - this is an intentional issue caused by Apple. Hopefully Tim 'Crook' will fix this and get us back to how we all love Apple to operate and why we became Apple users in the first place. Not wanting to move back to Mountain Lion and loosing info.
Any thoughts?

Nov 5, 2013 2:12 PM in response to explorzby mkummer,Good new, fellas - the new version 11.1.3 - just released - fixes both my problems - the time lag of Album View nd the WIFI sync prblematic. So - as I suggested - it's always a good strategy to give Apple some time - and tell what's wrong.

Nov 5, 2013 2:37 PM in response to explorzby Larry Duran,I just reset the network setting on my iphone and wifi sync is now working like a charm!

Nov 5, 2013 4:36 PM in response to Larry Duranby lkrupp,Has anyone considered this possibility? Go to the Settings->General->iTunes Wi-Fi Sync and read the following...
"Automatically sync with iTunes on your computer when your iPad is plugged into power and connected to Wi-Fi"
I have noticed that my iPad used to sync over Wi-Fi without being plugged into its power adapter. Since the upgrade to iOS 7 and iTunes 11.1.2 that no longer works. I must be connected to the charger.

Nov 5, 2013 7:06 PM in response to explorzby MrSpocksSon,Installed iTunes 11.1.3, killed off the AppleMobileDeviceHelper, rebooted OSX, toggeled iOS wifi, and reset my iPad network settings to no avail.
Can't imagine why, but Steve Rhyne's fix worked like a champ. All my iOS devices showed up in iTunes within seconds after making that change. Thanks Steve for fixing this issue.
