In Safari 6.1 on Mountain Lion 10.8.5, Cmd-F works, but gives double the true count of the search result.
e.g. If "ABC" is present 3 times in the page, the count is given as 6. Some basic programming stuff-up here.
I have the same problem, mid 2009 MBP, went from SL to ML and now Mavericks. I have uninstalled all extensions, but the bug remains.
I have now upgraded from ML to Mavericks which has taken Safari from 6.1 to 7.0.
On retrying Cmd-F, it now works fine. I did disable all Safari extensions and also repaired permissions prior to installing Mavericks.
I thought I deleted all plugins, as well as Glims, but I must have been wrong. Running the Glims uninstaller solved the problem.
Running the Glims uninstaller fixed this for me too. Just removing it from Safari doesn't work. Here's a link to the uninstaller: http://www.machangout.com/node/9
Updating to the new version of Glims might fix it too, I don't know.
