Aug 13, 2014 8:22 AM in response to lpotter1by lpotter1,The majority of everything I buy is bought through the classified ads online. Because I believe in reducing, reusing, and recycling and being a responsible citizen of earth. I bought an iPad online, 100% not stolen, and the fact that you believe everything bought online is stolen shows you have zero ability to see things in any other viewpoint.

Aug 13, 2014 8:47 AM in response to lpotter1by lpotter1,Also, I want to know why I have had messages refused for "flaming" when almost this entire thread is people who like this new security feature v. thise seeking help.
The non-helpful, non-productive posts from those who like it are ALL considered flaming! Mine should not be removed unless ALL of them from ALL users are.
"Flaming often leads to the trading of insults between members within a certain forum. This is an unfortunate result, as it often throws the discussion of a legitimate topic well off track. For example, the topic of a discussion forum may be "Choosing a Mac or a PC." Some Mac user may post a message gloating about the benefits of a Mac, which in turn prompts a response from a PC user explaining why Macs suck and why Windows is obviously the better platform. The Mac user may then post a reply saying that Mac users are, in fact, a more intelligent species who are not as naive as PC users. This kindles a more personal attack from the PC user, which incites an all out flame war."

Only the moderators may decide which posts get removed, their decisions are their own.

Aug 13, 2014 9:08 AM in response to Hotshotssnipeby Klaidas 175,How to find out if the ipad was stolen and how to retrieve the contacts of the MASTER cause apple is not responsible but it is locked on apple servers it does not make sense if ill go to police and it was not reported stolen can i sue the original buyer then ?

Aug 13, 2014 9:14 AM in response to Klaidas 175by caspar35,I understand now. You want Apple to monitor all iPads and clearly mark those that are stolen in large letters? That seems a bit excessive, surely?
How about buyers using a small amount of common sense over where they buy second-hand or apparenty new items, and who from? Again, Sony don't sell new games consoles in the street, Rolex don't sell watches in car parks, and Apple don't sell iPads through someone online who then meets customers (dupes?) in shopping centres. Learn from this.

Aug 13, 2014 9:24 AM in response to caspar35by Klaidas 175,They can block all apple devices assuming that they are all stolen but if their not stolen ? if you would go through my previous posts and read the scenario and it is possible and probably thousands of people have same problem you can not admit or you know everything what happened ? strange

Aug 13, 2014 10:15 AM in response to Klaidas 175by caspar35,Yes, I agree with you, many, many people have made very bad buying decisons by not using common sense and handing money over to dubious sellers.
As to tracking, it has ben very clear for a long time that Apple - and Sony, Ford, Rolex etc - will not get involved in helping anybody trace ownership of their products without clear legal or police instruction.
As to the request made by another poster to give help to someone with a problem, you have hardly asked for help, you have just complained that Apple will not do something that it clearly will not do for very good legal reasons, all the while trying to escape your own action, which lies somewhere on a spectrum between misfortune and extreme gullibility. You can probably work out where I would place your action, althoguh I very much hope you do get police help for your problem.. They are the ones you should be contacting, not a technical support line.

Aug 13, 2014 1:15 PM in response to caspar35by lpotter1,I never asked for help, because I never needed help. I was so annoyed after reading these posts that I couldn't help but post! I was cleaning up after someone else's mess and did not require assistance from anyone outside of Apple.
The thing is, I have seen nothing, but people pointing the blame at others and telling them they aren't responsible or make bad choices, instead of just stating the procedure to unlock or referring them directly to Apple. There are plenty of links from Apple about this specific situation.
In my opinion, almost all the "experts" here have done nothing but flame the people coming here for help, but only people like me have my posts banned. At least be consistent and ban ANY posts that flame others, that includes the ones accusing people of being irresponsible and making poor purchase choices.

There is only one 'procedure to unlock' and it has been posted endlessly in this thread. If you actually read the thread you would have seen it.
