Oct 23, 2013 8:35 AM in response to Jerrold Green1by bretmcvey,Sort via just a single column at a time appears available, but sorting entire rows in a table doesn't appear to be present unless I'm missing some hidden feature somewhere. I used to be able to select a series of rows and then sort via a variety of criteria that I could customize.

Oct 23, 2013 9:02 AM in response to bretmcveyby darlenefromaz,I can't find it either. I used to be able to sort just selected rows with multiple sort criteria, but can't figure out how to do that now. It isn't possible they would have eliminated that ability, is it?

Oct 23, 2013 9:15 AM in response to ActiveSolutionsby chrismcveigh,I'm absolutely stunned by the removal of the reorganize panel. I have a number of massive spreadsheets that I need to reorganize constantly to make sense of the data, and without the reorganize panel I'm going to have to sort one column at a time.

Oct 25, 2013 4:00 AM in response to chrismcveighby maczx,Have just sent feedback suggest others do as well as the more that grumble at the loss of what I regard as basic functionality the more likely someone will take note.
I am not a happy chappy!

Oct 25, 2013 10:09 AM in response to ActiveSolutionsby Miketheteacher,It seems to have been migrated and renamed as "Filter" and can be found in the top right. It is actually quite a bit easier to use, IMO.

Oct 25, 2013 11:10 PM in response to bretmcveyby SGIII,Alas, no multiple column sort in Numbers 3.0. But there is a workaround that isn't too onerous. Say you have columns A, B, and C and you want to sort by column A then by column C then by column B. Just add a new column D with the formula =A&C&B. Then sort by column D.

Oct 25, 2013 11:40 PM in response to ActiveSolutionsby HIGBerg,It seems like the option to organize based on categories in a column with summation of each category is gone too. Or has anyone found it?

Oct 26, 2013 5:45 AM in response to HIGBergby maczx,Can I suggest .... if there is functionality missing in Numbers 3.0 that users miss (like the reorganising and sorting functions mentioned above) besides submitting feedback might be a good idea to submit a product rating/review via the App Store.

I've read that highly critical reviews have been deleted, so be objective and not too incendiary.

Oct 26, 2013 6:00 PM in response to SGIIIby cleitonPena,The problem are not sort in the Columns, but sort "selected rows", that could be done in earlier version of Numbers through the window Organize. And I think the new Filter option not replaced the previous version Organize. The Filter not replaced the Organize. I agree with @darlenefromaz and @HIGBerg: the Organize is gone... and we need to ask for apple resurrect him.

Oct 26, 2013 6:15 PM in response to cleitonPenaby SGIII,Yes, I understand the convenience of the old Reorganize panel. I thought it was great. The problem is (I'm guessing) that it is really hard to do something like that in Numbers iOS and Numbers for iCloud. So they gave us features that are more likely to work across all platforms.
If you need to sort just selected rows you could put the =A&C&B formula (or whatever order you need) in just the rows you need to sort. Leave the other cells in column D blank.
Or, if you're doing a LOT of partial sorting like that maybe you should have the data in separate tables anyway.
Not saying it's great... just saying there are workarounds... until (if) something like the Reorganize panel comes back by popular acclaim.

Oct 29, 2013 9:58 AM in response to ActiveSolutionsby EZEVANS,This is most disturbing. I need the sorting functionality. filtering on the new Numbers does not work in the same way as sorting at all. it wont show anything but the filtered items.
