Dec 9, 2013 3:26 PM in response to alexanderdpby NasaJPLFan,I have also been experiencing the same problem with my third monitor ... "No Signal" is all I get on it.
To bad, I was expecting a fix by now. I am hoping by adding another post to the thread it will help some (fingers crossed).
Cheers

Dec 12, 2013 6:06 PM in response to solrac139by dblogger23,Brand new Macbook Pro 15 out of the box. Using a Dell external monitor with HDMI. Once the laptop goes into sleep mode, I lose both the laptop and external monitor screen. Screens go black with a cursor. My laptop monitor comes back when I disconnect the HDMI cable. Then I have to reconnect cable again. I have the screens mirrored.

Dec 13, 2013 8:33 PM in response to solrac139by ASKIDKID,Old MacBook pro, bought in 07. Running 10.9
Trying to connect my LG tv as a monitor via VGA.
Whenever I try to plug this in my MacBook monitor goes blank and the tv doesn't detect a signal. I press command,F2 to bring my laptop display back, but then my cursor is nowhere to be found and the keyboard is unresponsive. If command,F2 doesn't work then I have unplug the external monitor, which signs me out of my profile....
If the keys are unresponsive, I have to hard reboot, but if I leave the monitor connected it never loads..
Any help?

Dec 13, 2013 9:43 PM in response to ASKIDKIDby ASKIDKID,Solved a few of my previous problems but ran into others in the process. I had mirroring enabled when my DVI adapter was plugged in which resulted in the blank screen on the MacBook, solved by pressing F7 to turn it off.
Old MacBook pro, bought in 07. Running 10.9
Trying to connect my LG tv as a monitor via a legacy DVI to Video adapter.
My tv doesn't detect a signal and whenever I turn on mirror display my MacBook's display goes blank and nothing works. Also my MacBook doesn't detect any other displays (but I don't think it should with the way in connected).
Another thing, when I have my DVI to Video adapter in when I turn the MacBook on, it never gets past the boot-up screen
Any help?

Dec 15, 2013 5:02 AM in response to ASKIDKIDby Toitoinou,Hi
I experienced the black screen issue today.
I tried everything I found on various forums but nothing worked.
I then tried to find and remove the display plist files from my preferences directory and then rebooted.
It immediately worked.
Surprisingly I couldn't find these files in the trash and I didn't find new ones in the ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost directory.
You should be able to find them by searching "display" in ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost
I hope this will help others.

Dec 15, 2013 6:36 AM in response to Bill_MacUserby francoisbernard,Hi,
thank you for your answer.
I tried holding the power button briefly, but it didnt work.
Maybe I didn't push the button at the right time…
Could you tell me a bit more about the right timing ?
Or is it the process to reset the SMC ?
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
(Select "Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own")
Thanks

Dec 15, 2013 6:48 AM in response to Toitoinouby francoisbernard,hi Toitoinou,
thanks for your feedback
find and remove the display plist files from my preferences directory and then rebooted.
So you went here
~/Library/Preferences/ByHost directory
and deleted all files which names includes " display " ?
I just want to be sure before erasing the wrong file !
I find 6 files, one of which ends in " .plist.lockfile "
Did you erase all of these files then restart, and everything was fine ?

Dec 15, 2013 8:05 AM in response to francoisbernardby Toitoinou,Hi francoisbernard
I had 4 of them, and I deleted all of them. Maybe you should copy them somewhere before you delete them.
One of them was a lockfile.
Once you're done, just reboot.
Since then, I rebooted twice and they never reappeared, but the display control panel seems to store its settings correctly.

Dec 23, 2013 10:46 PM in response to Rudiliveby diegotrystero,Unfortunately after the OSX upgrade my secondary monitor, an Acer V233HQ, connected to the MacPro by a MiniDVI-VGA adapter, keeps losing the right definition of 1920x1080 one or two times a day. The only way to fix it is unplug and re-plug the cable.
