Green tint to Macbook Pro Retina screen.

Hello,

I have a Macbook Pro Retina less than 2 months old, earlier today the screen started to get a green tint on everything. I already attempted adjusting the color profile, which didn't affect the greenness of the screen.

Thoughts?

Good evening, I have the same problem on a MacBook Pro retina 13 of 2015. However my case is different from the others since it is no longer under warranty. Is there a program open by apple since the problem is frequent? Help-meUser uploaded file

hi! I just got the same problem now. Started since I cleab the screen using the glass cleaner and spray it all over the screen and then wipe it. And the tint always happen when I boot up the mac or wakes the mac from sleep. It lasts for 10 minutes and the tint just.. Dissappear. And I just realised that I got the same problem with the same reason. Did anyone already figures out a way to fix this instead replace the screen?

Ok, the EXACT same thing happened to me, although I sneezed all over the screen (gross) and then wiped it off with a windex covered paper towel. Then followed up with a damp microfiber towel to remove smudges. There was no way that water could have gotten in nor the windex.

So I raise you this question; did you use a microfiber cloth, and are you in a dry-cold or a dry-hot otherwise low humidity climate.

The reason I ask, theoretically if you did use a microfiber, had the computer on, and rubbed back and forth across the screen several times, you may have created static electricity, which may have interfered with the screen.

I found that after doing several power cycles (command+control+p+r+power) the green tint completely disappeared. I also noticed that the cat hair that flies around my house is not sticking to the screen anymore....

Food for thought

Same here on a 13" MBP Retina Late 2013.

The green tint appears every time after waking the MBP from sleep mode or after powering it on. This is not related to sunlight or screen cleaning in my case. The green tint fades away after 10-15 minutes of use but this is not a solution for me. This is obviously a problem with the GPU or something. I also encounter the ghost image problem. I just dropped it at Apple Care for repair.

Wow, the repair was done within 24 hrs.

It's the display. The entire display got replaced. This solved both the green tint and the ghosting effect on my old screen. In my case the repair was covered by Apple Care.

If you don't have warranty then you may want to check the links below. Funny thing is, I have another 2011 MacBook Pro that felt under the repair program and got repaired as well (different problem though). So I've got two issues solved within a few months. One GPU issue (2011 MBP) and one screen issue (2013 MBP).
