I agree with everyone who wants to have the right to synch contacts, etc. on computer.  I am a seriously addicted apple addict from 1983 with every Mac device to date, but will leave, sell my stock and buy samsung over this if not fixed!  Who would have thought my favorite company could lose their best defender ever!

I doubt your threats will make any difference but have you told Apple what you want (not told them your silly "threats")?

Except the facts don't prove that at all. Apple's iPhone sales have set records for 2 quarters in a row. While I agree that it was a mistake to eliminate local sync, I doubt that most users care. And all available evidence points to it being added back in the next iTunes release. In my experience things that I care deeply about are "so what" to almost everyone else.

Just hoping it will happen won't change anything.

Do something useful to make it happen.

    Yes, you can.

SyncMate 5 from Eltima Software allows you to sync both contacts and calendars for free via USB on Mavericks.

The final version is now available from: http://www.sync-mac.com/

Well, if iCloud actually worked for this I wouldn't be so put out.

iCloud simply does not let you synch multiple email accounts from your Mac to your device like iTunes used to let you.  iCloud synchs Apple iCloud email account, that's it.  It lets you synch web passwords, that I'm finding fairly convenient and awesome, but I really would prefer the choices I used to have as well.

I'm not sure how many more are in the same boat on synching email accounts, but if we make enough noise (feedback) through their preferred channels, maybe they'll get the message and add back email account synching too.

The iPhone NEVER let you sync emails over a USB connection. All you could sync was email setup, and that only one time.

Your comment is pointless.  I actually know what I was able to synch before, and the very quote from me you quoted clearly said "email accounts".

You're not helping trying to nitpick away very real concerns.

Don't automatically assume people are idiots.  We know what we're talking about.  If some people accidently say the word "emails" instead of "email accounts", don't get stuck on nonsense.  You know darn well what we are talking about by now.

    And it wasn't one time.

If you changed passwords, etc.  it was easy to unselect and resynch accounts, if you had to do even that.

It was very handy, especially for people who use this professionally and manage many accounts or strong passwords.

Please, apply common sense.  People are specifically talking about the features they used to have, that are now missing.  Nitpicking the few people who may refer to "email" instead of "email account" is deliberately distractive, as if that nullifies the very real issue of email account synching being taken out.  We're looking for a solution to features that are now broken or missing, we used to rely on, not asking for anything new here...

It does sound like apple is fixing the "oversight" or listening to user demands at least partially, and adding back the ability to synch contacts and calendars via USB.

I sincerely hope they add the email account synching too, as it is a huge step back security and usability wise, for those of us managing multiple email accounts, personal, business, strong passwords, etc.

It's not nitpicking. This is a technical support forum. Using technical terms accurately is important. Saying, "Doctor, I can't see" means a very different thing than "Doctor, I can't see now that my glasses are broken." The solution might well be very different.

Well, if you had read the actual comment, you would have noticed I clearly said "email accounts" anyway.

I was trying to stop Lawrence from confusing himself, since it's clear we're talking about email accounts, which I referred to correctly anyway.  The "response" that you could never synch "email" was a mistake he made, not me.

Words can also be used distractingly like sleight of hand.

if someone holds something in one hand, and says "my hand is empty", true but still an implied lie.

We're talking about the function of synching email accounts being taken away, among other things.  Nitpicking that you could never synch actual emails was pointless in this context, even if a couple peoply may have accidently used the word emails throughout this thread somewhere.
