Q: Can you upgrade to the new iMovie if originally from an iLife disk?

I have a MacBook Pro early 2011 model. It came with the mac app store, and the iLife dvd which contained iMovie/iPhoto. Can I still update to the new releases of iMovie and iPhoto for free or do I have to buy them all over again through the Mac App store.

iMovie '11, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
