illegal Software

One of my best friends has Final Cut Studio on his Mac and he offered to give me a copy. The thing is, I know he downloaded his software online and I'm sure if it's an illegal copy (I suppose with a illegal Key as-well). I don't think Il take it but is it possible that he can get caught? Can apple see if he has a illegal copy? Would Apple know if it wasn't registered but just used (like one copy never updated). I tried telling my friend that it's a bad idea to even have illegal stuff on his computer but is he really in danger? I don't under stand how so many people get away with illegal apps. Can anyone answer these questions?

Ha, ha, ha, ha... "friend", lol! Are you sure that friend is not you? You seem very worried on behalf of your "friend", unnaturally so, lol! In any case, I don't think you'll get answers on *Apple's official forums* to questions regarding security measures if any, that Apple takes to rightfully protect their property. I recommend to not have anything to do with illegal software. Apple is a relatively small company. If folks steal their software, it makes a big difference to Apple's well-being (moreso than Microsoft, though personally I definitely do not advocate or support or excuse the use of ANY illegal software). You want to use the software? Do the right thing and buy it. Often there are demos so you can try before you buy.
