importing RAW images into iPhoto

Hi there, I have a macbook with snow leopard running iPhoto 08 and it won't import RAW images from my new Canon T5i. Gets unrecognizable file format error. The T5i is on the Apple list of supported cameras for RAW imports and iPhoto 08 supports RAW (and I checked the RAW box in preferences). Any ideas? thanks!

You'll need iPhoto 11 and OS 10.7 or later to wrk with Raws from that camera.
