Q: browser layout reverts to default every time I quit

When I launch Aperture I change my desktop from the default locations to the ones I prefer. When I quit, then relaunch, all the elements are back to the default locations. How do I save my workspace? Bridge has a menu item to same a workspace, but I have found nothing like that in Aperture. Is there some way to save my layout of the browser, viewer and inspector?

Aperture 3, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

For me, the layout of the application window stays the same, when I relaunch Aperture.

You probably have a problem with corrupted user preferences.

Note:Your User Library is hidden by default in 10.7.x or later - to open it in a Finder window use the "Go" menu from the Finder's main menu bar.

    • Quit Aperture, if it is running. Log off and on again.
    • Open the user library by using the Finder's "Go > Go to Folder" menu and hold down the options-key, until "Library" appears in the drop down menu. Select it.
    • In the widow that will open, scroll down to "Preferences"
    • From the "Preferences" folder  remove "com.apple.Aperture.plist".

Then try to launch Aperture again.

But deleting the "Preferences" file will cause Aperture to forget the preferences settings. Be prepared to have to reset all options you set using the Aperture Preferences panel.

If the above does not not suffice, remove the preferences again to the Desktop. And for good measure also the mirrored files in the sandbox: ~Library/Containers/com.apple.Aperture/Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.Aperture/, log off and on again.
