Has Pages 5 lost bookmarks and hyperlinks?

Has the new Pages (version 5) lost its bookmarks and hyperlinks facility? I can't find them anywhere.

No - it's the bookmarks facilities that has disappeared, linking within a document to other parts of the document or to other Pages documents. (The web link facility is useful too, but it's a different animal...)

There is a Table of Contents feature (e.g. click on a chapter in a contents list and go there) and it is automatically generated if you use paragraph styles, but it is not what I am looking for...

Why this feature would be dropped deliberately I can't fathom. I must therefore assume there was a brain explosion somewhere in Apple at the time they were checking things out and they missed that it had been dropped...

Yes, this feature is missing, however, you still have access to Pages 09 (assumming you did the upgrade). Thank goodness! The easiest way to find Pages 09, is to use the spotlight in the top right corner. Type in "pages" (without quotations) and you will see it there. Yeah!!

Note: If you have made any changes to a document in Pages 5 or it is an original Pages 5 document, you will not be able to open it in Pages 09 (version 4). You will have to open the document in Pages 5, export it as a Pages 09 version and then open it in Pages 09.

Hope that helps!!

I sure am glad they kept Pages 09 on my computer. Now I will just use Pages 09 until the next update of Pages. Hopefully, they will update the bookmark feature for the next release :-)

Pages09 was convenient to use because I could export my document as a PDF that could printed for hard copy reference AND my document could be viewed in a browser and navigated via hyperlinks and bookmarks. This was very useful and I was very pleased with this functionality. Pages 5.1 has apparently abandoned this functionality. As a result I cannot use 5.1 for the document. I do not consider the 5.1 linking functionality provided a TOC linking to chapters and sections to provide adequate navigation functionality for my document. Please consider implementing robust linking functionality akin to that in Pages09. I would be happy to speak with anyone regarding my comments.

I started using Pages 5 tonight as I was creating a quick PDF for an instructional file. I decided to use bookmarks in my table of contents, but noticed the missing feature. In my quest for answers I found this thread and I'd like to know if there is more information for the following.

When I created a Table of Contents, I noticed it included the page numbers with the titles indexed from my headings within the table-cel. The page numbers are linked and they do jump to the corresponding sections within the document, however, when exported to PDF they don't work. When I remove the numbers by ticking the box in the TOC format pane to the right (which unchecks the numbers) the linking is gone as well; apparently just the numbers are affected and only within the document.

Is this the norm in Pages? While I know this is not what we're looking for entirely, I'm just curious as to why the numbers are active, albeit only within the Pages file.

Does anyone know where that link is stored and can it be exported to HTML and possibly recreated from the link it is showing when the page numbers are displayed in the table cel? I'm curious to know so that maybe, the bookmark link within pages, can be carried over another way.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
