GarageBand 10.0 crashes

I just installed the new GarageBand. During the initial content download, afer the progress bar completed, it would not respond. At no point was the icon on that dialog to show the new features of GarageBand functional .. it brought up nothing when clicked.

Eventually, an hour after the progress bar claimed to be complete, I quit the application (not force quit, simple menu-based quit). Since then, Many things will reproducibly cause the app to unexpectedly quit, including

- Showing the Keyboard

- Selecting the Piano Instrument

- Playing any converted project

I tried reinstalling. I would be more than willing to start over, but I do not know how to completely uninstall GB and all of its settings.

I tried running GB from the Guest account, to remove all user settings issues. There, I was able to show the basic keyboard in anew project, but pressing a key on that keyboard immediately, unexpectedly, quit the program.

I am on an iMac 2007. GB 5.1 works fine.

Any ideas?

Что за хрень? Проблемы с авторизацией?

Вообще-то это форумы для _пользователей_ Apple. Сотрудники компании эти форумы не читают (о чём вполне недвусмысленно написано английским по белому). Так что все эти эмоции -- на ветер. Хотите жаловаться Apple -- bugreport.apple.com (плюс, само собой, английский язык).

New GB update today 10.01 seems to fix the crashing issue for me! Looks like Apple heard our complaints and fixed the issues? Hope you all have good results with the latest update!

I would love some additional confirmation on this. Preferably anyone with a 2007 iMac; GarageBand is currently unusable on mine. I'd do it myself but I'm still at work.

Updated to 10.0.1. Does not crash on my iMac 2007 anymore.

Yup, finally. I can finally play something on my 2007 iMac.

I can finally check out the new drummer feature.

Now just a few more 'fixes' in the rest of the Mavericks/iPhoto update and I'll be back to normal.

All in all, not too long. It seems they knew this might happen as it's a seperate install.

Confirmed, I'm on a mid-2007 imac, posted on this thread several days ago with the same crashing issue as everyone else, and the latest App store update to garageband has fixed the problem. Hooray!

Many thanks apple support for fixed problems and crash garageband 10 on mac 2007. Now it's work perfect 🙂

The update cured the crashes. The 64 bit only plugins made me lose some super ones. Bummer. I hope I can get updates as they are better than the Mac ones. Still not thrilled with the interface. If they had to change it they should hvae gone to a more standard DAW look. Still no proper mixer.

As I said the crashing is gone. They said something about adressing some minor problems. Minor?? are they kidding, the thing was unuseable.

Thank you, everyone for your input and thanks to Apple for putting together such a small patch to fix this. Amaising what a few lines of funky code will do. Prollem solved.

Well, the patch definitely made everything useable which is awesome, but it completely removed the help section. It just says the selcted topic is currently unavailable. Anyone else have this?
