Error code 36 with external Cardreader after updating to OS X Mavericks

Since yesterday after the APPLE update from 10.8 to OS X Maverick i can read the external sandisk CF with my card reader Imagemate all in one but i CANT do anything else. To copy or transfer imidiatelly the disk stops with an erro code no36. I tried with different programmes (Adobe bridge, finder, photomechanic) but the result was allways the same, eject the card for a few seconds.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

I am having the exact same problem.

Card reader and CF cards work fine on late 2007 Macbook Pro with Moutain Lion and on my Windows 7 desktop.

Mid 2012 15in Macbook Pro

Sandisk ImageMate All-in-One USB 3.0 Reader SDDR-289

CF Cards are Sandisk Ultra 8, 16 and 32GB

You have to update sandisk card reader firmware from this link

But you need a pc cos they have only exe.......... lol

Funny. we need a pc to operate properly our mac

How can I update a driver on Mac with a PC? Sorry, but I am not a computer expert and I don't have a PC at all.

You have to update the firmware of the reader to work on Mac

Thats why you need the PC cos Sandisk gives you only .exe file to update.

Just connect the reader to the PC. Download the firmware and install it. Then the next time you 'll connect it to the Mac everything is gona be ok

I hit this too. I don't have a PC, so I guess that Sandisk card reader is bricked for me. Time to get a new card reader unless there is a fix in a Mavericks dot release.

this thread helped out..i have a kingston usb 3 card reader...i had to update as well to get it to work in mavericks..

worked fine in lion and mountain lion.

I have had the same problem with the ImageMate card reader continously ejecting and disconnecting.

I'm not sure if the issue has been fixed. But i found this today...

It is the firmware update for Mac.

I'm not at home at the moment, so i havent tested it out yet.

neither apple machine can read either card readers with a 16gb SanDisk card used now that i have updatede to crapricks 10.9.2 ... luckily still have 1 laptop with 10.8 and yes it reads them fine.

-- would much rather pay for an OSX update over a free one you are forced to upgrade to as certain programs associated with the OS only run withf the update ... no colored folders anymore and even copying other os design is just another example of bad os design ( yes venting again as apple is becoming just another device company and not apple, and it is sad.. sigh )

vent over ... if anyone has a solution other than keeping 1 machine running 10.8 i would appreciate it

I downloaded the update on my pc but when I insert the sandisk when prompted it says it can't find it. The computer finds it to open it but the update program won't. What can I do?
